RENO, Nev. - Despite trailing early, UC Davis captured four singles matches, three in three sets, to rally for a 4-3, come-from-behind victory over Nevada in a men's tennis match Saturday afternoon at the Caughlin Ranch Tennis Club.

With the win the Aggies snap a five-match skid and improve to 4-14 on the season.

After losing to the Aggies 6-1 in Davis earlier in the season, the Wolf Pack proved to be dedicated to getting even. The Pack caught Davis by surprise as it took the team doubles point, sweeping all three matches. Adam Joose and Milos Popovic defeated Justin Garcia and Michael Chin 8-5 at the No.1 spot while Brandon Sieh and Rafal Stupka posted an 8-3 win over Casey McMakin and Jordan Combs at No.2. At No.3, Eldar Dzhafarov and Max Volger escaped with a 9-7 win over Daniel Elefant and Henri Landes at No.3.

In singles play, Nevada took two of the first three matches to come off the courts. Popovic was first off, as he defeated Chin in straight sets 6-3, 6-3. After Popovic's victory, Bastian Bartels put UC Davis on the board with a 6-3, 6-7, 6-1 victory over Stupka at No.4, making it 2-1 Nevada.

Jooste then put Nevada one win from victory as he won a pair of tiebreakers to defeat Jayce Fitch at the top spot, 7-6, 7-6. Senior Blake Roberts found his way into the lineup at No.6 and responded with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Kensuke Watabe while Combs came back after dropping the first set 6-0 to defeat Sieh, 0-6, 6-4, 7-6 at No.3, tying the match at 3-3.

The match came down to the No.5 match between McMakin and Dzhafarov. Dzhafarov won the first set 7-6 but dropped the second 6-1. By the time the other matches had all finished, McMakin led 4-3 in the third set. As the fans gathered around the five court each side cheering and rooting for their guy, McMakin closed out the match with a hold and break of serve to take the final set, 6-3.

UC Davis will conclude its season on April 23 when it faces Sacramento State at the Rio Del Oro Racquet Club. Matchtime is set for 10:30 a.m.
