DAVIS, Calif. - Toki Sherbakov advanced to the Flight A Singles consolation finals and paired with Adam Levie in the Flight A Doubles consolation finals as the UC Davis men's tennis concluded play at the Aggie Invitational at the Marya Welch Tennis Center in Davis.
Sunday saw Sherbakov narrowly edged in the consolation finals of the Flight A ITA Singles division. He defeated Nevada's Fernando Sunago 6-4, 6-3 in the semifinals earlier that day, then faced the tournament's fourth-seeded player Victor Ouvrard. The Nevada player outlasted Sherbakov in a 6-4, 1-6, 1-0(7) victory.
Sherbakov also paired with Levie, a freshman out of Solana Beach, in the consolation finals of the Flight A ITA Doubles bracket. The pair faced Sunago and Ouvrard, falling 8-2.
UC Davis returns to action at the UCSB Classic in Santa Barbara Oct. 12-14.
