SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- Senior Toki Sherbakov claimed sixth place in the "A" singles flight and paired with Adam Luba to finish seventh in Flight "B" doubles as the UC Davis men's tennis team concluded action at the UCSB Classic on Sunday.
Sherbakov lost to UC Santa Barbara's Mbonisisi in the fifth-place match on Sunday, falling 6-2, 6-0, to earn a sixth-place finish.
He then paired with Luba in the Flight "B" doubles backdraw and faced Northern Arizona's Robert Martin and Alan Barrios. The Aggie duo edged the Lumberjack pair 8-6 to finish seventh overall.
Brett Bacharach advanced to the ninth-place match of the Flight "B" Singles backdraw, facing UC San Diego's Max Jiganti, but fell 6-2, 6-4. Adam Luba took on Cal Poly's Jordan Kepler, dropping a narrow 6-3, 7-5 decision in the 13th-place match.
In Flight "C" singles, freshman Adam Levie faced Nevada's Phillip Hinojosa in the seventh-place match, but fell 6-4, 6-1 to take eighth place.
UC Davis continues fall action at the ITA Regional Oct. 19-23 in Moraga.
