UC Davis sweep the opening three doubles matches then split the six singles contests to defeat Hawaii-Hilo, 6-3, in a men's tennis match Saturday afternoon.
With the win the Aggies improve to 1-1 on the season.
The match began with the Aggies capturing all three doubles matches as Bastian Bartels and Michael Chin posted an 8-5 win over Hilo's Jeremy Moitry and Dan Pollock at No.1. Blake Roberts and Jayce Fitch then made it 2-0 with an 8-5 victory over Tomas Mikulasek and Staffan Moritz at No.2 before Justin Garcia and Daniel Furman made it a sweep with an 8-4 win over Patrick Sosnowski and Lars Melsken at No.3.
In singles play, Fitch made it 4-0 with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Pollock before Robert Wong clinched the victory with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Melsken at No.6. UC Davis picked up its other singles victory at No.3 when Jordan Combs posted a 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (10-5) win over Sosnowski at No.3.
Saturday's match concluded the Aggies fall season.
