DAVIS, Calif. -- The UC Davis men's tennis team faced tough competition last weekend after going up against Washington on Friday, Portland on Saturday, and lastly Gonzaga on Sunday. This weekend, the Aggies hope to bounce back from the losses as they stay at home to play three matches at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. UC Davis will kick things off on Saturday (Feb. 17) with a doubleheader starting at 10 a.m. as the Aggies take on players from Sonoma State, and then players from Saint Mary's at 2 p.m. On the following day (Feb. 18), the men's tennis squad will round out the competition weekend with a match against Santa Clara's team.

ABOUT THE SEAWOLVES: Sonoma State is currently 2-1 in the 2018 dual season, falling in their season-opening match against Nevada. As a team, the Seawolves are 11-7 in singles,  and 4-5 in doubles. The last time the UC Davis and Sonoma State met on the courts was during the 2016 season, where the No. 57 Aggies shut out the Seawolves, 7-0, after winning the doubles point and all six singles matches.

ABOUT THE GAELS: Saint Mary's holds a 1-4 record going into this weekend's matchup. In the dual season, the Gaels are 9-21 in singles, and 5-8 in doubles play. The last matchup between UC Davis and Saint Mary's occurred during the 2017 season, which ended with a 6-1 Aggie victory after they won both the doubles point, as well as five out of the six singles matches.

ABOUT THE BRONCOS: Santa Clara ranks 5-2 overall in the 2018 dual season, as well as a 30-7 in singles, and a 15-5 in doubles.
