LA JOLLA, Calif. - The last UC Davis duo remaining at the 124th Annual Pacific Coast Men's Doubles Championships at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club in La Jolla, Calif., Adam Levie and Toki Sherbakov fell in three sets in their Rd. of 16 match Saturday afternoon.
Capturing the opening set 7-5, Levie/Sherbakov dropped the following two sets 6-1, 6-3 to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' Joe Dorn and Warren Wood in a matchup that featured two of three unseeded teams to advance to the penultimate day of competition.
The pair will have little time to enjoy their success at the USTA's yearly event because the Aggies will return to action in a 2 p.m. dual match versus Villanova at the Peninsula Tennis Club in San Diego, Calif.
UC Davis' match against the Wildcats is the first of two that will take place before the teams return to Davis; the Aggies will end their time in San Diego with their 2 p.m. Monday matchup against Boston College at the Northview Tennis Courts on the campus of UC San Diego.
