An NCAA Division III All-American in his own competive days at Cal St. Stanislaus, Dewar assists both UC Davis track squads, handling sprints, long jump and triple jump, as well as recruiting and meet administration. In 2001, he guided the first-ever Aggie 4x100 relay to the NCAA Championships. The squad posted a 6th-place finish and garnered All-America distinction.

A native of Pasadena, Calif., Dewar graduated from Alta Loma High School. He was an all-conference prep sprinter in the 100, 200, 400, 4x100 and 4x440 meters, and set school records at 100 and 200. He was Alta Loma’s most valuable track athlete in each of his four years, and also competed in football.

He spent his first two collegiate seasons at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif., before transferring to Cal State Stanislaus. He earned All-America recognition at Stanislaus as a member of the relay teams before receiving his bachelor’s degree in physical education in 1990.

Dewar earned his master’s degree in business adminisration management at the University of Phoenix in Sacramento. He and his wife Mary were married in August 2000. He has a 6-year-old daughter, Kylei Lynn; and a son, Rylan David, born last September.

Dewar served as Competition Support Crew Chief at the Olympic Track & Field Trials in July 2000.
