PLACER HS ’01: Won Sac-Joaquin Section title in 3,200 as a senior... Twice captured subsection championships in both the 1,600 and 3,200... Won three straight Sierra Foothill League titles in 3,200... Aslo a four-time subsection champion in cross country... Was state cross country champion as a senior, runner-up as a junior... Twice named Runner of the Year by the Sacramento Bee.

PERSONAL: Born Aug. 2, 1982 in Auburn, Calif.... Aeronautical science & engineering major... Has three younger sisters, all of whom are cross country and track athletes... Lists Lance Armstrong and Steve Prefontaine as sports heroes, mother Susan as non-sports hero... Huge fan of the Star Wars saga.
