Hicks earns second-team distinction, Richardson named to All-Freshman squad
2010: ALL-WWPA HONORABLE MENTION... Scored 27 goals and ranked 2nd on team with 30 assists for 57 total points... Led field players with 30 steals... Also drew 16 kickouts, blocked 4 shots and won 3 of 4 sprints... Had 8 multi-goal games, including hat tricks at Fresno Pacific (9/10), Claremont (9/12) and UC San Diego (9/18)... Scored 2 goals with 4 steals in WWPA semifinal win vs. UC San Diego (11/20).
2009: WWPA ALL-FRESHMAN TEAM... Played 27 games for 471 minutes... Shot 23-for-62 with 18 steals and 17 drawn kickouts (14 major, 3 five-meter)... Scored first collegiate hat trick in season opener with Cal (9/10)... Scored season-best 4 goals vs. Pacific (9/19)... Also had three other 2-goal games.
UNIVERSITY HS '09: Appeared on California-Hawaii All-America (eighth team) and NISCA All-America (fifth team) squads as a senior... Also a fourth-team All-Southern California, second-team All-Southern Section and second-team All-Orange County honoree that year... Set school record with 141 goals in 2008, leading all Pacific Coast League and Southern Section Division I players... Also had 33 assists and 78 steals that year... Led PCL with 98 goals in 23 games as a junior, winning all-league, all-section and NISCA All-America nods... Section qualifier in 100 backstroke, 100 freestyle and 200 medley relay... Earned All-America Consideration in 200 medley in 2008... Selected as school's Scholar-Athlete of the Year as a senior... Played club ball for SoCal Water Polo Foundation, earning spots on SoPac Zone teams in 2007 (Cadet) and 2008 (Juniors)... Helped team with U.S. club championship.
PERSONAL: Born in Omaha, Neb.... Majoring in exercise biology... Parents are James & Kay Hicks... Career highlight was playing water polo for his older brother, Andrew, who took over as coach in his senior year.
