UC Davis Splits Second Day, Places 14th At NorCal Open

STOCKTON, Calif. - Led by six total goals from senior utility Adam Bennett, No. 11 UC Davis split its second-day action at the NorCal Open collegiate men's water polo tournament at Saint Mary's High School, picking up a 10-9 win over 17th-ranked Cal Baptist then falling to No. 13 Navy in a 6-4 afternoon contest.

The Aggies, who finished 14th in the Pacific-hosted tournament, move to 3-7 for the season.

Senior attacker Michael Mulvey led the Midshipmen with five goals in the win over UC Davis in the 13th-place game. Bennett scored three goals for the Aggies, while sophomore Aaron Salit added one. Redshirt freshman Kevin Peat posted 11 saves in front of the UC Davis cage.

The senior class provided the bulk of the Aggie offense in Sunday morning's win over Cal Baptist. Bennett and 2-meter Paul Wilson each scored three goals in that contest, while defender Adam Lindsay scored two and lefty driver Grant Muenter added one. Salit also had a goal to round out the UC Davis scoring in the 10-9 win.

The Aggies return to action at the UC Santa Cruz Slugfest on September 27 and 28.
