Pacific Snaps Aggies Winning Streak At Seven

STOCKTON, Calif. - Nic Hepner and Kraig Jorgensen each scored three goals as the No.4 UOP Tigers ended UC Davis' seven-match winning streak with a 13-4, victory Sunday afternoon in a men's water polo match on the UOP campus.

With the loss, the Aggies fall to 7-2 on the season while Pacific improves to 5-2.

UOP came out strong as it shutout the Aggies during the opening 16 minutes, taking a 7-0 lead into halftime. In the third quarter, Pacific came out strong and scored six goals while UC Davis got on the board with two of its own. the Aggies then closed out the scoring as they blanked UOP in the fourth period, outscoring the Tigers 2-0.

For the Aggies, Jonathan Burke, Conor Duignan, George Dingeldein and Brook Rogers all scored one goal in the game.

"It was a very hard, physical game. UOP is a big, strong team and one of the top teams in the country," said Aggie Head Coach Steve Doten. "It was a good learning experience for us and a measuring stick to see where we are at at this point in the season."

The Aggies return to the pool this Saturday in Santa Cruz when they participate in the UC Santa Cruz Slugfest.
