STOCKTON, Calif. - Sophomores Trevor Allen and Teddy Nicholson each scored two goals but 17th-ranked UC Davis was unable to overcome an early deficit, falling by a 16-7 final to No. 6 Pacific in a non-conference men's water polo game At Chris Kjeldsen Aquatics Complex Friday night.

The Aggies slip to 11-8 for the year.

Both Allen and Nicholson netted goals as part of UC Davis' four-goal final quarter. However, Tiger sophomore Alex Obert had pocketed five goals in the first half to give Pacific an 11-3 edge. Chris Richardson, Anders MacCarthy and Colin Hicks each had a goal to round out the Aggie offensive output, while Balasza Erdelyi hit five goals to match Obert for the Tiger scoring lead.

Obert scored twice in a 4-0 Pacific run through the first 4:24 of the contest. Nicholson ended the UC Davis drought with a natural goal with 3:31 left in the first, only to have Erdelyi answer just 10 seconds later to craft a 5-1 Tiger lead through the first. Richardson and Allen posted goals to trim the deficit to three just two minutes in the second quarter. But Pacific responded with nine unanswered goals - five prior to halftime and four more in the scoreless third - to stretch its lead to 15-3.

MacCarthy opened the fourth with his lone goal, Nicholson hit his second with 2:16 left, Hicks converted a 6-on-5 chance with 1:20 remaining and Allen struck with 11 ticks to complete the four-goal Aggie fourth. Junior Tony Dito posted eight saves for the game, including three in that final quarter.
