STANFORD, Calif. - Tony Azevedo and Thomas Hopkins each scored four goals to lead the top-ranked Stanford Cardinal to a 16-2, non-conference men's water polo victory over visiting UC Davis Sunday afternoon at the Avery Aquatic Center.

With the loss, UC Davis falls to 12-8 on the season while Stanfird improves to 14-2. The Cardinal jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first period as Stanford connected on six of its first nine shots. The CArdinal would increase its lead to 9-1 at halftime.

The Aggies got on the board in the second and third quarters as freshman Patrick Jacobson and Tom Jay each had a goal in the contest.UC Davis will next be in action on October 26 when they participate in the Air Force tournament in Colorado Springs, Colo.
