DAVIS, Calif. - Senior attacker Bernie Rogers and junior utility Chris Richardson represented UC Davis on the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-America squads as honorable-mention selections, it was announced Thursday.

Rogers' award capped a season in which he was chosen as the Western Water Polo Association Player of the Year. He tallied 47 goals with a team-high 32 assists for 79 total points on offense, while leading all UC Davis field players with 28 steals. The Del Mar, Calif. native became the program's first conference MVP since goalkeeper Mike McGee in 2007.

Richardson, of Palos Verdes Estates, led the Aggies in goals for a second straight year, netting 49 on 128 shots. He also ranked second on the team with 20 assists while drawing 51 exclusions and five five-meter penalties. Richardson has earned year-end accolades from the conference in each of his three seasons, but this is his first national honor.

UC Davis finished its first season under new head coach Daniel Leyson with a 14-13 overall record, a perfect 5-0 mark against the WWPA, and a No. 12 final national ranking.
