DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis water polo players Ryan Hagens, Kevin Peat and Kevin Meisel each captured All-Academic honors from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches, it was announced Friday morning. This is the third such honor for Hagens, and the second for both Peat and Meisel.

To be eligible for ACWPC All-Academic recognition, a student-athlete must have competed in at least 50 percent of the team's contests and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher. The honor roll features three classifications: Outstanding (3.71-4.0), Superior (3.41-3.70) and Excellent (3.20-3.40). Hagens appeared among the Superior honorees while Peat and Meisel listed in the Excellent category.

Hagens, from Sacramento's Jesuit High School, majors in exercise biology. Peat, a Bellarmine Prep graduate from Walnut Creek, finished his degree in international relations. Meisel, from Atherton, Calif. and Sacred Heart Prep, holds a double major in history and communication.

Peat also captured ACWPC All-America honorable mention earlier this year.

UC Davis won a school-record 22 games last fall, reaching the Western Water Polo Association championship game. The Aggies also ranked 12th in the final national poll.
