DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis student-athletes Trevor Allen, Kevin Meisel and Teddy Nicholson appeared among the 97 total recipients of 2012 Western Water Polo Association Men's All-Academic honors, it was announced by the conference office on Thursday morning.

The All-Academic rolls consists of students who compiled at least a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average, played in at least 50 percent of their team's contests, and who had completed a minimum of one semester or two quarters at their institution prior to the season.

Meisel, a senior history major from Atherton, Calif., has earned WWPA All-Academic status for the maximum three seasons. Allen and Nicholson, both sophomores and graduates of nearby Davis Senior High, picked up their first such honors. Allen majors in economics, offered by the university's College of Letters & Science; while Nicholson studies the similarly named managerial economics, run by the College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences.

UC Davis went 14-18 overall and finished fourth at the WWPA Championship last November. The Aggies also were ranked 18th in the final national poll.
