DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis senior Kevin Meisel and redshirt sophomore Trevor Allen each garnered All-Academic distinction from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches. This honor came on the heels of the Western Water Polo Association's similar awards program.

To qualify for ACWPC All-Academic recognition, a student-athlete must have competed in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions and held a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or higher. The awards program features three classificiations: Outstanding (3.71-4.0), Superior (3.41-3.70) and Excellent (3.20-3.40). Allen appeared in the Superior category while Meisel made the rolls under the Excellent designation.

Meisel, a history major from Atherton, Calif., captured three ACWPC and three WWPA All-Academic awards during his career. Allen, a grad of nearby Davis Senior High, studies economics at UC Davis.

The Aggies finished 14-18 overall and ranked 18th in the final national poll. The placed fourth at the WWPA Championship in November.
