DAVIS, Calif. - Four UC Davis student-athletes - redshirt freshman Trevor Allen, senior Ryan Hagens, junior Kevin Meisel and senior Kevin Peat - were named to the Western Water Polo Association All-Academic, it was announced by the conference office Friday.

To earn WWPA All-Academic distinction, honorees must carry at least a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average, compete in at least 50 percent of the team's contests in that season, and be classified as a full-time student who as completed a minimum of one semester or two quarters at his institution.

Hagens, a Jesuit High alumnus from Sacramento, majors in exercise biology. Peat, from Walnut Creek and Bellarmine Prep, earned his degree in international relations. Meisel, a native of Atherton and an alum of Sacred Heart Prep, double-majors in history and communication. Allen, a second-year Aggie from neighboring Davis High, has declared economics as his major.

Hagens, Meisel and Peat also earned All-Academic accolades from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches earlier this spring.

UC Davis set a school record of 22 wins last fall, advancing to the WWPA title game. The Aggies also ranked No. 12 in the final national coaches' poll.
