DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis sophomore utility Chris Richardson was selected as co-recipient of the KAP7 Western Water Polo Association Player of the Week award, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday. He shared the honor with La Verne senior Arturo Villapando.

Richardson scored a total of 19 goals in five wins during last weekend's three-day Aggie Shootout tournament, including a career-high six against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. The former WWPA All-Freshman pick also scored four goals each against La Verne and Redlands, three against Cal Baptist and two versus Chapman.

For the weekend, Richardson shot .594 (19-for-32) overall, including 10-for-12 on power plays. He also compiled six assists, three steals, 10 drawn kickouts and a drawn five-meter foul in 111 minutes on the course.

The 12th-ranked UC Davis improved to 10-4 for the year and 9-1 in WWPA games. The Aggies compete at the SoCal Invitational at UC Santa Barbara on Saturday and Sunday.
