DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis senior Bernie Rogers garnered his second KAP7 Western Water Polo Association Player of the Week award, it was announced by the conference office Thursday morning. Furthermore, the Aggies moved up five places to No. 12 in Wednesday's national coaches' top 20 poll.

Rogers, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound attacker from Del Mar, Calif., led then-No. 17 UC Davis to upsets over No. 12 Loyola Marymount and No. 10 UC San Diego over the weekend. He netted a career-high five goals in Friday's victory over the Lions, then - less than 24 hours later and 110 miles away - hit the game-winner in sudden-victory overtime to lift the Aggies to a 12-11 win over the Tritons.

For the weekend, Rogers shot 7-for-13 with three assists, four steals and a field block. The Cathedral Catholic High School grad earned his first WWPA Player of the Week nod back on September 12.

UC Davis hosts No. 16 Santa Clara on Sunday, then defending WWPA-champion Air Force on Monday. Both games begin at 1 p.m. at Schaal Aquatics Center. The upcoming weekend will finalize the seedings for the conference championship, held in Davis from Nov. 22-24.
