Won that weight division at CIF-SS Northern Division tourney in 2005, advancing to Masters meet... Also competed for West Covina Wolverines club, finishing 4th at state freestyle championships in 2006.

PERSONAL: Born in Covina, Calif.... Plans to major in civil engineering... Parents are Jesse Armendariz and Rachel Vasquez... Proudest personal accomplishment was winning a section title... Hopes to eventually earn his master's degree in civil engineering.
