2005-06: Earned first trip to NCAA Championship by snaring Pac-10 Conference's wild card berth... Placed 4th at conference, beating No. 1 seed Justin Pearch of Oregon, 10-7, in consolation semis... Led Aggies in victories, finishing season with 25-13 record, 25-12 against NCAA-countable foes... Went 12-4 in dual matches (tops on team) and captured 9 wins by major decision... Opened season with six straight victories, including four at Fullerton's California Open (where he placed 2nd)... Scored 20 or more points three times in five-bout span from 1/21 to 2/4... Beat Stanford's Eric Minnick, 22-10, in home dual; later defeated Minnick by 19-9 major in Pac-10 wrestleback draw.
2004-05: Finished 8-9 for the year at 141 pounds... Had 6-8 mark in NCAA-sanctioned bouts, 2-4 in duals... Went 5-1 at All-Cal Invitational to place 3rd... Shut out Tony Martinez of Menlo, 7-0, to advance to 3rd-place match... Beast Boise State's Jacob Skoles, 4-1, in first dual victory (not counting forfeit win vs. Oregon).
2003-04: Posted 7-4 record, almost all in tournaments... Finished 3rd at Fullerton Open... First collegiate bout was 15-2 major vs. Fullerton's Alvora Arreola... Recorded 2:54 pin over Sal Gonzales of Fresno State in lone dual appearance.
2002-03: Redshirted.
KATELLA HS '02: Became first wrestler in school history to twice qualify for state championships... Placed 7th at state championships at 119 pounds as a junior, earning All-County honors by the Los Angeles Times... Took 3rd at Southern Section meet that year... Named Wrestler of the Year in the Empire League as a senior... Also placed 7th at section Masters meet.
