A two-time All-American and 2001 NCAA champion at Oklahoma State, Munoz returned to his home area to serve as Lennie Zalesky's top assistant with the Aggie program. He now enters his fifth season at UC Davis.

This is Munoz's second stint at collegiate coaching: he stayed with the Cowboy program for two seasons as an assistant coach. In 2003, he helped guide OSU to its 31st NCAA championship.

As a collegian, Munoz captured two Big 12 titles and earned back-to-back All-America honors at 197 pounds, including his NCAA title as a senior in 2001. He also made the NWCA All-Academic Team for three years and the Big 12 All-Academic squad for four. Additionally, Mark was a three-year member of the FILA Junior World Wrestling Team, earning the silver medal in 1998.

Munoz earned his bachelor's degree in health sciences in 2001, and is currently working on a master's degree in exercise biology. He originally hails from Vallejo, Calif., graduating from Vallejo HS in 1996. He and his wife, Kristine, reside in Elk Grove with their four children.
