Defeated Luke Feist (Stanford) and Chad Henke (Oregon State) at conference championships... Competed unattached at 96 KG (197 lbs.) at ASICS University & FILA Cadet National Championships... Went 3-2 at the tournament, advancing past Jake Glore of Sunkist Kids (5-0, 2-1) and picking up a 2-1 decision over Patrick Carey of Stud Farm.

2007-08: Finished 13-12 overall, 10-11 against NCAA-countable foes... Jumped from 184's to 197's in January, posting 5-4 record in the latter weight class... Placed 3rd at Oregon Classic, scoring two pins and a major decision in his final three matches... Pinned Cal Poly's Collin Brooks in first-round action at Pac-10 Championships.

2006-07: Redshirted... Competed unattached at 197 pounds during the California Collegiates... Went 0-2 at that tourney, losing by just a combined three points.

LOARA HS '06: Compiled 43-2 record as a senior, capturing second straight Southern Section title then placing 3rd at CIF state championships... Lost to eventual state champion by a single point... Selected to Orange County Register All-County squad... Finished 4th at high school nationals that year... Had advanced to state quarterfinals as a junior before losing to eventual champion... Competed for Megalodon club for three years... Also played football as a defensive lineman... Earned All-Academic honors in both sports.
