Ken Cook won by fall for the second straight match, and Derek Moore and Omar Gaitan each scored major decisions to lead the UC Davis wrestling team past Cal State Bakersfield, 23-16, in a Pacific-10 match at the Icardo Center Saturday night.
The victory brings the Aggies' Pac-10 record to a perfect 3-0 while their dual record now stands at 4-5. The Roadrunners are now 4-6 overall and 2-4 in conference.
The win also marked the Aggies' first-ever victory in Bakersfield and their second victory over the Roadrunners in the last 12 meetings.
Fourth-ranked Cook earned his fourth pin of the season and his second in as many weeks while pushing his overall record to 15-3 in the process. The win also solidifies his No. 1 ranking in the Pac-10.
Third-ranked Moore, who is also the top-ranked Pac-10 wrestler at 141, continues his impressive senior campaign as his team-high fifth major decision (18-6) of the season pushes his undefeated mark to 14-0 and 6-0 against conference competition.
Gaitan, ranked third in the Pac-10, earned his third major decision (16-6) of the year and now sits at 12-6 overall.

The second Aggie run began at 157 as Alex Darkhovsky claimed his first victory of the season in wild fashion as he earned four points in the final nine seconds with a reversal and three-point near fall.
, ranked second in the Pac-10, also had to battle at 165 as he earned an escape point with eleven seconds remaining while also gaining the one point for over two minutes of riding time to defeat the fifth-ranked Pac-10 wrestler.
Cook put the match out of reach with his fall in 174 as he made quick work of his opponent with a pin only 1:17 into the first period.
Bakersfield would claim the remaining three matches, including a pin in the heavyweight bout to make the final score a little closer.
UC Davis returns home next Friday for a double dual with Pac-10 rivals Oregon and Oregon State. The dual against Oregon will be held at noon while the Oregon State dual is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will feature the second meeting between Aggie head coach Lennie Zalesky and his brother, Oregon State head coach Jim Zalesky.
