Derek Moore grabbed one of three wins by fall on Friday evening as the Aggies took a 31-12 victory over Southern Oregon on the road.

ASHLAND, Ore. - The UC Davis wrestling team captured a non-conference win over Southern Oregon on Friday evening at McNeal Pavilion with Derek Moore, Jesse Padilla and Frank Richmond all winning by fall. The 31-12 win lifted the Aggie season record to 7-8 and broke Southern Oregon's eight-dual home winning streak.
The Aggies won seven of nine contested matches, forfeiting at 133-pounds. Marcos Orozco grabbed a 15-4 major decision win at 125-pounds to get the dual rolling for UC Davis.
No. 8 Derek Moore furthered the Aggie lead by pinning Matt Holt one minute and 41 seconds into the 141-pound match-up. Jesse Padilla defeated Joey Jannsen in the ensuing 149-pound match by fall in three minutes and 57 seconds.
Jon Clark picked up a close 5-4 win at 157-pounds over Jimmy Ulrey which was followed by the third pin of the night by Frank Richmond. Richmond, who did not wrestle last weekend, was able to pin Jimmy Grochowsky in 4:05.
Dustin Noack faced the first setback for the Aggies as he wrestled up two weight classes. All-American David O'Brien was able to grab a narrow 8-7 decision over Noack at 174-pounds. The Raiders momentum continued through the 184-pound match-up as Rick Story grabbed a win over Tyler Bernacchi using three reversals to take a 16-9 decision.
The Aggies will be in action again next weekend when they travel to Pac-10 foe Cal Poly on Friday and Fresno State on Saturday.
