Aggies Drop Dual Against Cal State Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The UC Davis wrestling team dropped a 39-4 decision to Cal State Bakersfield in a Pac-10 matchup Saturday at the Icardo Center in Bakersfield, Calif.

Junior Brandon Low, ranked 15th nationally, continued his win streak with a 17-7 major decision over Justin Durham at 133 to give the Aggies their only victory of the night. With the win Saturday, Low has recorded seven straight victories.

Cal State Bakersfield won the remaining nine matches, including a forfeit at 149 and a fall at 157.

After picking up three straight decisions, the Roadrunners earned a technical fall at 197 when Riley Orozco defeated Shawn Hoehne 18-4. Cal State Bakersfield then recorded a major decision at 285 and a technical fall at 125. Low's victory at 133 stopped the Roadrunners' run briefly, but Cal State Bakersfield concluded the meet with a forfeit at 149 and a fall at the 6:00 mark at 157.

UC Davis returns to action Feb. 26-27 at the Pac-10 Championships, which the Aggies will host.
