LAS VEGAS, Nev. - UC Davis sophomore 133-pounder Derek Moore beat Pittsburgh's Drew Headlee in a 12-4 major decision in the fifth-place bout to highlight the Aggies' second day at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational Collegiate Wrestling Tournament at the Cashman Center Saturday.

Moore was one of three Aggies in action on Saturday. He beat David Emison of George Mason in a 17-1 technical fall, then was pinned by Cal St. Bakersfield's Matt Sanchez in the seventh round of the wrestleback draw, placing him in the fifth-place matchup with Headlee.

UC Davis 184-pounder Brandon Bear and 165-pounder Frank Richmond each were eliminated in earlier wrestleback action. Richmond dropped a 7-1 decision Will Durkee of Virginia in the fourth round of consolations, while Bear lost yet another close decision, falling 4-2 to Cal Poly's Ryan Halsey.

Michigan won the team title at the tourney, edging second-place Nebraska, 148 to 139.5. Hofstra finished third at 108.5 while Arizona State led the Pacific-10 Conference teams with a fourth-place total of 103.5. Boise State was the only other UC Davis conference opponent in the top 10, finishing eighth at 75 points.

The Aggies return to action on December 11 for a Pac-10 Conference dual at Boise State.
