LAS VEGAS, Invit. - Redshirt freshman Derek Moore defeated Kortney Lake of Adams State to captured the third-place match in the 133-pound weight class on Saturday at the 2003 Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, contested at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Moore, from Shasta High School in Redding, advanced to Saturday's semifinal by capturing all three matches on Friday. In his semifinal, Moore dropped a 4-3 decision to Illinois' Mark Jayne. Jayne went on to capture the title of the 133-pound division after a 7-6 decision over Cal Poly's Darrell Vasquez. In his third-place match, Moore posted a 5-1 decision over Lake.

Nebraska's 99.5 points led the team competition with Michigan second with 95 and Missouri third at 62.5. UC Davis' point totals were not available.
