UC Davis (3-12, 1-6 Pac-10) will send Brandon Low, Barrett Abel and Ricky Alcala to the 2010 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships... The three-day tournament will be held at the Qwest Center Omaha in Omaha, Neb.

ABOUT THE NCAA DIVISION I WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Hosted by the University of Nebraska and the Omaha Sports Commission, the 80th Annual Division I Wrestling Championships features 330 of the nation's elite student-athletes from across the country... The NCAA first announced the automatic qualifier allocations for each conference Feb. 25, then revealed the remaining 50 at-large selections and the complete championship bracket Mar. 10.

LIVE COVERAGE
The NCAA will provide live video of Session I and II Thursday as well as a semifinals preview show via www.ncaa.com... Friday's sessions will be shown on ESPNU with Session III beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET and Seesion IV beginning at 7 p.m. ET... ESPNU will resume coverage Saturday with Session V starting at 11 a.m. ET and Session VI starting at 7:30 p.m. ET.

UC DAVIS AT THE 2009 NCAA DIVISION I WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Marcos Orozco (125), Brandon Low (133) and Ricky Alcala (285) traveled to St. Louis, Mo. to compete in the 2009 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships... Orozco and Alcala earned automatic berths into the tournament with their performances at the Pac-10 Wrestling Championships... Both finished third overall with Alcala winning the true second-place match to earn the automatic spot at 285... Low was selected as an at-large representative... Alcala was eliminated with two losses after the first day of competition, falling to No. 9 John Wise of Illinois by a 9-5 decision and Nebraska's Tucker Lane by a 6-0 decision... Orozco earned an 11-4 decision over Anthony Mustari of Northern Colorado to advance to the second day of competition... Low also advanced by narrowly edging Conor Beebe of Central Michigan by a 3-2 decision... On the second day, Low topped Pac-10 Conference opponent and 15th-ranked Filip Novachkov of Cal Poly by a 7-3 decision but lost by a 5-3 decision to eighth-seeded Joe Baker of Navy to finish 2-2 in his inaugural trip to the NCAA Championships... Orozco lost his opening match to tenth-seeded Scotti Sentes of Central Michigan to finish 1-2 at the tournament.

Brandon Low - 133 pounds
Ranked 12th nationally by InterMat... Appearing in his second straight NCAA Championships after finishing 2nd at Pacific-10 Conference Championships... Went 2-1 at Pac-10 Championships with a win by fall over Boise State's Ben DeMuelle and a 4-3 decision against Ben Ashmore of Arizona State before falling to Boris Novachkov of Cal Poly by a 4-3 decision in the championship bout... Finished 9-2 overall, all of which were NCAA-countable, and 8-1 in Pac-10 action... Upset No. 16 Kelly Kubec of Oregon State by fall Jan. 15 and No. 8 Boris Novachkov of Cal Poly Feb. 12... Won nine straight matches before falling to Novachkov in the championship finals of the Pac-10 Tournament.

Barrett Abel - 149 pounds
Currently ranked tenth in the country by InterMat... Advances to first ever NCAA Championships after winning the 149-pound championship at the Pac-10 Wrestling Championships Feb. 27... Abel's win is the first Pac-10 Championships for UC Davis since 2007... Defeated Nick Fisher of Cal Poly by a 12-9 decision in championship finals... Went 3-0 at the Pac-10 Championships, defeating Stanford's Tyler Parker by a 10-6 decision and earning a 5-3 decision over Vicente Varela of Arizona State... Holds 21-7 overall record and is 6-4 in dual action and 10-3 in Pac-10 contests... Leads the team in falls with five and technical falls with three... Posted three major decisions on the year.

Ricky Alcala - 285 pounds
Competing in second straight NCAA Championships after finishing third at the Pac-10 Wrestling Championships by defeating Kurt Klimek of Cal State Fullerton by a 6-1 decision... The win avenged a 3-1 loss to Klimek in the first round of the tournament... Defeated Stanford's Dylan Rush in an 11-3 major decision and Erik Nye of Arizona State by a 6-5 decision to advance to the third-place match... Currently ranked 17th nationally by InterMat... Holds 21-7 overall record and is 13-5 in Pac-10 dual meet action... Posted four major decisions and two falls during the season.

RECAP: 2010 PAC-10 WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS
UC Davis placed seventh out of eight teams with 79.0 total points... Barrett Abel won UC Davis' first Pac-10 individual title since 2007 with a 12-9 decision over Cal Poly's Nick Fisher at 149 pounds... Brandon Low was narrowly defeated by Cal Poly's Boris Novachkov at 133 pounds to finish second... The Aggies also earned a third-place finish from Ricky Alcala at 285... Alcala defeated Kurt Klimek of Cal State Fullerton by a 6-1 decision which avenged a first round loss to Klimek... All three earned automatic qualifying spots to NCAA Championships... Bryan Osuna was seventh at 141 pounds while Trevor Machado-Ching (157) and Abe Otrambo (197) each placed sixth.

Barrett Abel (149) and Ricky Alcala (285) are tied for the team lead in wins with 21 each... Alcala has posted 13 Pac-10 victories... Abel also leads the team in falls with five and technical falls with three... Joey Wilson has posted 18 wins while Trevor Machado-Ching has 15 victories this season... Brandon Low (133) had a nine-match win streak snapped in the championship finals of the Pac-10 Wrestling Championships Feb. 27 when he fell to Cal Poly's Boris Novachkov by a 4-3 decision... His run was comprised of three falls and two major decisions... Abel's championship run at the Pac-10 Championships gives him a three-match win streak... Alcala also owns a three-match win streak entering the weekend.
