As a junior in 2001, Kuehn earned All-CCAA honors with a 3rd-place finish at the conference meet, then garnered All-West Region distinction by placing 6th at the regional. The previous year, he took 7th at the conference meet then narrowly missed All-Region honors with a 17th-place showing. Kuehn has competed at nationals in all three years.
In track, he earned his first All-America award by finishing 4th in the 1,500 at nationals. Kuehn ranks among the school’s all-time leaders in the 1,500 (3rd), 3,000 (7th) and 5,000 (5th). Kuehn, whose nickname JAK is based on his initials (John Anthony Kuehn), is an applied physics major.
