Simpson To Appear On ESPNU On Tuesday

DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis head coach Sandy Simpson will be interviewed live on ESPNU on Tuesday at approximately 12:40 p.m. as part of the network's show "ESPNU Coach Spotlight: NCAA Women's Tournament Coaches Special."

The network is attempting to interview the head coaches of all 64 teams in this year's NCAA Tournament field during the four-hour program that begins at 10 a.m. Simpson will interviewed over the telephone.

The program is part of ESPN's full coverage of the national championship tournament which begins with first-round games on Saturday. The network will televise all 63 games of the NCAA Tournament on one of its various platforms including ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN3 (online).

UC Davis (24-8), which won the Big West Conference on Saturday at Honda Center in Anaheim, is making its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament and will travel as the No. 16 seed to face top-seeded and second-ranked Stanford (29-2) at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at Maples Pavilion.

The Aggies are in just their fourth year as a Div. I program and have already been to two Women's National Invitational Tournaments (WNIT) and three Big West Tournament championships.
