UC Davis picked up back-to-back wins at the Houston Baptist Husky Classic last weekend to move to 2-2 on the year.
Behind a career-high 23 points from Cortney French, the Aggies topped Navy 66-63 in an overtime thriller on Nov. 23... UC Davis then went on to defeat Houston Baptist 77-64 on Nov. 24.
Cortney French was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after recording two straight double-digit scoring efforts against the Midshipmen and Huskies... She would go on to earn her first-ever Big West Player of the Week Award.
Stanford is the No. 1 team in the nation for the first time since 2005 and most recently took a 77-41 win over Long Beach State to extend its national-best home winning streak to 81 games.
The Cardinal is 6-0 to open the 2012-13 season... The streak is highlighted by a 71-69 victory over Baylor, the top-ranked team at the time.
Chiney Ogwumike is Stanford's leading scorer and rebounder... She is averaging a double-double with 19.8 points and 11.7 rebounds per game.
Friday marks the fifth road game in seven contests for Stanford.
Friday's game will be broadcast live on KDVS 90.3 FM with Ben Taylor and Greg Cotta on the call.

UC Davis holds an 8-6 series advantage, but Stanford has won the last six straight games.
The teams played each other every year from 1974-75 until 1977-78 when the programs took a hiatus until the 2007-08 season.
Jennifer Gross begins her second season as head coach of the UC Davis women's basketball team after leading the Aggies to their third consecutive postseason appearance in 2011-12... In her first year at the helm of the program, the Aggies saw several milestones including Kasey Riecks' 1000th career point and Samantha Meggison and Hannah Stephens' selections to the All-Big West Conference team.
Tara VanDerveer begins her 27th year at Stanford and owns a record of 867-200 as the Cardinal's head coach... She was enshrined into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in August 2011 and has led Stanford to two national championships, 25 straight NCAA Tournament appearances, 11 Final Fours and 21 conference titles.
STANFORD SCOUTING REPORT
No. 1 Stanford is the top-ranked team in the nation for the second straight week, eaning 21 of 39 first-place votes in the AP poll and 21 of 31 in the Coaches Poll.
The Cardinal ranks in the top-20 in national statistics in five categories, including field goal percentage... Stanford is shooting 52.6 percent from the field, ranking them second in Div. I.
Chiney Ogwumike leads three players in double-digit scoring... She averages 19.8 points per game while Joslyn Tinkle is scoring 18.2 points per game while Amber Orrange averags 13.0 points per game.
Most recently, Stanford defeated Long Beach State 77-41 at Maples Pavilion, extending the Cardinal's national-best home winning streak to 81 games... Stanford's next home game is Dec. 15 against Pacific.
LAST TIME OUT
UC Davis swept their competition at the Houston Baptist Husky Classic last weekend, taking wins over Navy on Nov. 23 and host Houston Baptist on Nov. 24.
Cortney French scored a career-high 23 points in the Nov. 23 win over Navy... She hit a three with just six seconds left to send the game to overtime... UC Davis claimed the 66-63 win in extra time.
Against Houston Baptist, Sydnee Fipps topped her career high in scoring for the third time this season, scoring 28 points on 9-of-16 shooting, to lead the Aggies to a 77-64 victory.
French was selected as tournament MVP while Fipps was named to the all-tournament team.
FRENCH NAMED BIG WEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior Cortney French earned her first-ever Big West Player of the Week Award after recording back-to-back double digit games in her season debut last weekend.
Against Navy, she scored a career-high 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting... She also tied a career-high mark with five three pointers, including one with six seconds remaining to send the game to overtime.
In the Nov. 24 win against Houston Baptist, French scored 16 points and grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
She averaged 19.5 points per game, shot 54 percent from the field and was 8-of-17 from three-point range, leading to her selection as tournament MVP.
A FEW MORE MINUTES PLEASE
UC Davis played its first overtime game since the 2009-10 season, taking a 66-63 victory over Navy on Nov. 23.
The Aggies' last overtime game was a 63-61 loss to Creighton on Nov. 27, 2009.
UC Davis is now 11-13 all-time in overtime games.
HOME SWEET HOME
Friday's game is the first time UC Davis has been back at The Pavilion since the Nov. 9 season opener against Pepperdine.
UC Davis will play three straight at home, hosting Saint Mary's (Dec. 6) and Santa Clara (Dec. 16) during the span.
The Aggies played just two home games during the month of Nov. including Friday's contest against Stanford.
FIPPS ON FIRE
Sydnee Fipps is averaging 21.8 points per game and has scored in double digits in all four games to start the 2012-13 season.
She topped her career high in scoring for the third time this season, putting up 28 points against Houston Baptist on Nov. 23 in the Aggies' 77-64 win.
The sophomore ranks 15th nationally in points per game and is second in the Big West in points per game and field goal percentage (.551).
UC Davis ranks 43rd nationally in three-point field goal percentage thanks to hot shooting from beyond the arc over the weekend.
The Aggies shot 41 percent from three-point range against Navy and Houston Baptist, increasing their season percentage to .363.
UC Davis knocked down a season-high eight treys against Navy on Nov. 23, then hit 12 against Houston Baptist the next day... Nine of the 12 came in the first half alone.
Cortney French accounted for eight of the Aggies' 20 three pointers last weekend.
FREE THROW FINESSE
UC Davis is best free throw shooting team in the conference with a .750 percentage from the charity stripe... The Aggies also rank 40th in Div. I in free throw shooting percentage.
The Aggies are 69-of-92 from the line... Freshman Molly Greubel has made 13-of-16 to rank fifth in the Big West at a .813 shooting clip... Sydnee Fipps has made 25-of-31 (.806).
