Santa Clara Outlasts UC Davis, 81-78
Ricki Radanovich knocked down 6-of-10 shots from three-point range and Ruta Zurauskyte recorded a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds as Santa Clara topped UC Davis 81-78 on Monday at the Leavey Center in Santa Clara.
UC Davis closes out a three-game homestand by hosting Santa Clara on Sunday, returning to action after a 10-day break due to final exams... Tip off is set for 4 p.m.

Santa Clara has won two straight games and three of its last four... The Broncos took a 62-47 win over San Jose State on Dec. 12 behind Lindsay Leo's double-double.
Meagan Fulps is the Broncos' leading scorer, averaging 13.9 points per game... She is shooting 43 percent from the field and 42 percent from three-point range.
UC Davis faces its second straight West Coast Conference opponent and third of the 2012-13 season... Pepperdine topped the Aggies in the season opener on Nov. 9 while Saint Mary's took a 75-56 win on Dec. 6.
Santa Clara holds a 9-7 series advantage but UC Davis has won three of the last four contests.

Jennifer Gross begins her second season as head coach of the UC Davis women's basketball team after leading the Aggies to their third consecutive postseason appearance in 2011-12... In her first year at the helm of the program, the Aggies saw several milestones including Kasey Riecks' 1000th career point and Samantha Meggison and Hannah Stephens' selections to the All-Big West Conference team.
Jennifer Mountain has improved Santa Clara's win total in each of her five seasons with the Broncos... Last year, Mountain and the Broncos won six of their first seven games for the program's best start in over 10 years.

SANTA CLARA SCOUTING REPORT
Santa Clara is in the midst of a four-game road trip and has won its last two games.
All-West Coast Conference senior Meagan Fulps leads the Broncos in scoring and is averaging 13.9 points per game.
Ruta Zurauskyte is the Broncos' leading rebounder at 7.4 boards per game... She is also scoring 10.4 points per game.
Lindsay Leo led Santa Clara in a 62-47 win over San Jose State on Dec. 12, registering a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Ricki Radanovich hit five threes against San Jose State and is shooting 32 percent from long range... She is averaging 11.0 points per game.
LAST TIME OUT
UC Davis hosted Saint Mary's on Dec. 6, but suffered a 75-56 loss to the Gaels at The Pavilion.
Cortney French led three Aggies in double figures, scoring 17 points for her third double-digit scoring effort of the year.
Sydnee Fipps scored 11 points and had a team-high five rebounds... She also swatted a career-high three blocks... It was her sixth straight double-digit scoring effort.
STEALING THE SHOW
UC Davis is the No. 2 team in the nation in steals per game, averaging 15.2 steals per contest.
Most recently, the Aggies registered 17 steals against Saint Mary's and forced the Gaels into 28 turnovers.
The Aggies registered 11 steals against No. 1 Stanford on Nov. 30, forcing the Cardinal into a season-high 17 turnovers.
Blair Shinoda and Sydnee Fipps rank nationally in steals per game as well... Fipps' 2.83 steals per game ranks her No. 79 in Div. I while Shinoda ranks No. 104 with a 2.67 steals per game average.
TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS
For the second straight game, UC Davis registered 15 or fewer turnovers.
Against Saint Mary's on Dec. 6, the Aggies had only 11 turnovers... They also recorded only 11 turnovers against No. 1 Stanford on Nov. 30.
The Aggies are currently posting a 6.33 turnover margin, ranking them 26th nationally.
FIPPS ON FIRE
Sydnee Fipps continues to lead the Aggies in scoring, averaging 18.7 points per game with double-digit scoring performances in all six games this year.
Against Saint Mary's on Dec. 6, she collected a team-high five rebounds and a career-high three blocks as well as four steals.
She topped her career high in scoring for the third time this season, putting up 28 points against Houston Baptist on Nov. 23 in the Aggies' 77-64 win.
The sophomore ranks 39th nationally and second in the Big West in points per game
PROTECT THIS HOUSE
UC Davis is still searching for its first win at home and are 0-3 at The Pavilion to start the 2012-13 season.
UC Davis and UC Irvine are the only teams winless at home in 2012-13... The Anteaters are 0-4 to start the year.
The Aggies have now lost their last five straight games in Davis, dating back to the 2011-12 season... UC Davis closed out the year with two home losses to UC Santa Barbara and Pacific.
UC Davis last dropped three in a row at home during the 2008-09 season, falling to Cal Poly, UC Santa Barbara and CSU Bakersfield.
