UC Davis breaks up a road swing by hosting Washington on Friday at The Pavilion before returning to the road to take on Sacramento State on Dec. 30.
The Aggies will take on Washington at 7 p.m. on Friday before playing Sacramento State on Sunday at 2 p.m.
UC Davis takes a three-game winning streak, its longest of the year, into Friday's contest.
Friday's game marks the lone home game over the next seven contests... UC Davis is in the midst of playing six-of-seven games on the road.
Blair Shinoda and Sydnee Fipps led UC Davis to wins over USC and CSU Bakersfield at the Women of Troy Classic and were named to the All-Tournament Team for their efforts.
The Aggies shot 60 percent from the field in the Dec. 22 win over CSU Bakersfield, marking the highest field goal percentage since shooting at a .581 clip against Cal Poly in a 81-61 win on Feb. 3, 2011.
Washington has won 5 of its last 7 games and saw a four-game win streak snapped by UC Santa Barbara on Dec. 15.
Sacramento State has dropped 3 of its last 4 games and most recently topped Montana State 69-65 in its Big Sky opener on Dec. 20.
Jennifer Gross begins her second season as head coach of the UC Davis women's basketball team after leading the Aggies to their third consecutive postseason appearance in 2011-12... In her first year at the helm of the program, the Aggies saw several milestones including Kasey Riecks' 1000th career point and Samantha Meggison and Hannah Stephens' selections to the All-Big West Conference team.
Kevin McGuff enters his second season at the helm of the Washington Huskies... In his debut season, he led the team to a 20-14 overall record and a quaterfinal appearance in the WNIT.
Jamie Craighead is in her fourth season as head coach of the Hornets... Last season she took the Hornets to their fifth appearance in the Big Sky Tournament and led them to their first-ever tournament victory in program history... Fantasia Hilliard was named the Big Sky Freshman of the Year.
Both games will be broadcast live on KDVS 90.3 FM... Friday's game will feature Ben Taylor and Greg Cotta on the call while Sunday's game will be broadcast by Greg Cotta and Brandon O'Shea.

WASHINGTON SCOUTING REPORT
Washington has won five of its last seven games, but saw a four-game winning streak snapped by UC Santa Barbara on Dec. 15... Since that loss, the Huskies are 1-2 with their last win coming against Idaho (62-48) on Dec. 16.
Talia Walton is the Huskies' leading scorer at 12.3 points per game while Kristi Kingma is averaging 11.7 points per contest.
Kingma sat out the entire 2011-12 season after suffering an ACL injury during a preseason game.... She averages 2.67 three-point shots per game, ranking her 36th in Div. I.
Aminah Williams is averaging 11.4 rebounds per game and ranks 13th nationally in the category.
Through games on Dec. 16, the Huskies rank 24th nationally in three pointers per game, averaging 7.4 treys per contest.
Washington also ranks 19th nationally in turnovers per game and are are committing just 14.1 turnovers per game.
Friday's game marks just the third meeting between UC Davis and Washington... UC Davis holds a 2-0 lead in the series.
The Aggies and Huskies first met during the 2007-08 season at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Classic... UC Davis won 69-58.
Last season in Seattle, UC Davis rallied from a 12-point deficit in the second half to take a 69-68 win in the season opener.
SCOUTING SACRAMENTO STATE
Sacramento State has dropped three of its last four contests with its last win coming at Montana State on Dec. 20... The Hornets won 69-65 in their Big Sky opener.
Four Hornets are averaging double figures in scoring, including Kylie Kuhns who leads the team at 12.5 points per game... Alle Moreno is averaging 12.1 points while Fantasia Hilliard is averaging 11.8 points per game... Se'nyce Parrish is scoring 10.2 points per game.
Kuhns is also the Hornets' leading rebounder at 11.7 boards per game.
Led by 6-foot-4 senior Megan Kritscher's 44 blocks, Sacramento State is averaging 7.0 blocks per game and are the No. 4 team in Div. I.
Kritscher is the Div. I leader in blocks per game, averaging 4.75 per contest.
Sunday's game marks the first home game for Sacramento State since Nov. 28... The Hornets have played five straight on the road.
Sacramento State owns a narrow 27-24 series advantage, but UC Davis has won the last three straight contests and 10 of the last 12 games.
The last UC Davis loss was a 53-45 defeat at The Nest on Dec. 13, 2008.
CAUSEWAY CUP POINTS ON THE LINE
A win on Sunday could increase UC Davis' already commanding lead in the Causeway Cup standings as the Aggies hold a 45-7.5 lead over the Hornets in the annual rivalry.
UC Davis could add an additional 10 points to the Aggies' score with a win on Sunday.
LAST TIME OUT
UC Davis won both matchups at the Women of Troy Classic Dec. 21-22 at the Galen Center in Los Angeles... Blair Shinoda and Sydnee Fipps were each named to the All-Tournament Team.
Fipps led four Aggies in double figures against USC on Dec. 21 in a 78-69 win over the tournament host... She scored 22 while Cortney French added 20 points.
Against CSU Bakersfield on Dec. 22, UC Davis shot 60 percent from the field in a 71-59 win.
UC Davis shot 50 percent from the field against USC on Dec. 21, then followed that by shooting 60 percent against CSU Bakersfield.
The .600 field goal percentage (27-of-45) against the Roadrunners was the highest field goal percentage since shooting at a .581 clip against Cal Poly in a 81-61 win on Feb. 3, 2011.
UC Davis hit 14-of-26 from three-point range against USC on Dec. 21, shooting 53.8 percent from beyond the arc in the 78-69 win.
The 14 three pointers nearly tied a single-game UC Davis record... The record stands at 17 threes vs. Cal Poly on Jan. 11, 2007.
In the win, Cortney French was 5-of-9 from three-point range while Sydnee Fipps hit all three of her attempts.
UC Davis is hitting 7.4 three pointers per game, ranking the Aggies 32nd in the nation and second in the Big West.
HOLD THAT LEAD
UC Davis led at halftime in both wins at the Women of Troy Classic... The Aggies are now 4-0 in games where they lead at halftime.
When leading at the 10-minute and 5-minute marks of games, UC Davis also owns a 4-0 record.
The 66-63 overtime victory over Navy on Nov. 23 marks the only time that UC Davis trailed at halftime, the 10-minute mark and the 5-minute mark, yet rallied to win the game.
UC Davis is 1-4 when trailing at those three points in the game.
BAKER BREAKS OUT
Freshman Aniya Baker had a breakout game against CSU Bakersfield on Dec. 22, scoring a career-high 11 points and hitting 5-of-5 from the free throw line.
She made all three of her field goal attempts to tie a career-high mark.
Her four assists and three steals also matched career-high marks.
Bakers 1.8 steals per game tie her for tenth in the Big West Conference.
FIPPS ON FIRE
Sydnee Fipps continues to lead the Aggies in scoring, averaging 18.7 ppg with double-digit scoring performances in all nine games this year.
The nine-game double-digit scoring streak is the longest by any Aggie since Paige Mintun scored in double figures in 17 straight games during the 2010-11 season.
Last year, Fipps scored in double digits in just four games during the entire 2011-12 season.
She ranks 35th in Div. I in points per game and is No. 2 in scoring in the Big West.
DOHERTY'S BOARDS AND BLOCKS
Freshman Alyson Doherty grabbed seven rebounds against USC on Dec. 21, just one game after collecting a game- and career-high 11 boards against Santa Clara on Dec. 16.
She is the first Aggie to record a double-digit scoring effort in the 2012-13 season.
She has led UC Davis in rebounding in three games, including against No. 1 Stanford.
Doherty is also averaging 1.1 blocks per game after a career-high three blocks against CSU Bakersfield on Dec. 22... She has led UC Davis in blocks on four different occasions this year and has recorded at least one block in all but just two games.
THE WILD, WILD BIG WEST
After three straight wins, UC Davis is now in fourth place in the Big West standings.
Pacific leads the league with an 8-2 record, including a 6-2 mark at home... Cal State Northridge and UC Riverside are each 6-4.
COMING UP NEXT
