Over 960 student-athletes representing 76 schools were named to the 2017 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
With 80 percent of UC Davis field hockey's student-athletes earning a 3.0 grade point average or higher, the Aggies ranked second among the America East Conference's nine competing programs.
The Aggies will begin their run at the America East Conference Championship on Nov. 2 against No. 21 Albany at 1 p.m. (ET).
UC Davis will face No. 18 Stanford in its last regular season game this Saturday at 6 p.m.
The Aggies will travel locally to face California on Friday at 6 p.m. and Pacific on Sunday at 2 p.m.
2017: ALL-AMERICA EAST COMMISSIONER’S HONOR ROLL... NFHCA NATIONAL ACADEMIC SQUAD SELECTION… Started 17 games in as many appearances… Recorded her career first defensive save in the Aggies’ narrow one-goal loss to America East Conference rival, California, on Sept. 29… Capped off the regular season tied for fifth in the league with a pair of defensive saves.
2016: ALL-AMERICA EAST COMMISSIONER'S HONOR ROLL... Started 14 of 18 games... Scored a goal, on her only shot recorded, vs. Pacific (10/14)... That goal took place on a penalty stroke... Collected an assist two matches later when the Aggies visited Pacific (10/23)... Season-high three shots took place vs. LIU Brooklyn (9/25).
2015: ZAG FIELD HOCKEY/NFHCA DIVISION I NATIONAL ACADEMIC SQUAD SELECTION... Her UC Davis debut took place in a neutral-site game (at Stanford) against Syracuse (8/29) — last year's national runner-up... Competed in all 20 games... Recorded her first collegiate shot against the Orange... Scored her first goal as an Aggie at Northwestern (9/15), on her only shot taken that day... Collected her first assist when UC Davis hosted Cal (10/30) in its season finale.
RANCHO BUENA VISTA HS '14: Earned three letters as a member of Rancho Buena Vista's girls' field hockey team... Played at center or left midfield throughout her high school career... Scored twice and recorded two assists as a sophomore, posted four goals and three assists as a junior... Breakout season took place in her final season at RBV as she scored 10 goals and earned 20 assists... In her inaugural season of competition, Kramer received all-Palomar League honorable mention... Honors received as a junior include: all-Avocado League first team, all-Division I first team, all-San Diego County and all-CIF second team... In addition to her career-high scoring and assist totals, she received Division I Field Hockey, Avocado League and Rancho Buena Vista Varsity MVP accolades... Also collected Division I Field Hockey, All-San Diego County and Avocado League first team recognition... Besides competing in San Diego County's senior all-star game, Kramer was named the San Diego Union-Tribune's all-academic team captain and RBV athlete of the year... Named to the Principal's Academic Honor Roll as a junior and senior -- an honor created by the school during the 2012-13 academic year.
PERSONAL: Born in Oceanside, California... Animal Science major... Daughter to Judy and William Kramer... Older sister Sandra attends Cal Poly... Playing Division I hockey for UC Davis is her proudest personal accomplishment... Most people do not know that she loves to write poetry... Her sister, Sandy, is the best athlete she has competed against... Being named team captain during her senior year at RBV is her all-time sports highlight... Olympic Development Center in Chula Vista, California, is her favorite facility that she has competed in.
