Final Stats

AMHERST, Mass. - UC Davis was defeated by Harvard, 4-1, Wednesday evening in a non-conference field hockey game played at Garber Field on the campus of Massachusetts. The Crimson (2-0) scored two goals in each half while Lindsey Valadez provided the lone goal for the Aggies (3-2).

The first half featured plenty of pressure by the Crimson, who outshot the Aggies 16-2 in the period. Their efforts resulted in a pair of goals, both by Chloe Keating, to give them a 2-0 lead by the break. Keating's first goal came in the 8th minute before her second goal was scored in the 26th minute.

In the second half, Emma Keller scored twice in an eight-minute span midway through the period as Harvard led 4-0 with just under 20 minutes left in the game.

Valadez added her first Aggie goal with 7:31 remaining on an assist from Ellre Ancheta.

For the game, Harvard outshot UC Davis, 22-10. Marissa Hughes led the Aggies with four shots. Valadez and Charli Hutton added two shots apiece. In goal, Lauren Sawvelle tied a career-high with five saves.

UC Davis concludes its six-game road trip this weekend when it takes part in the Sheraton Classic hosted by Vermont. The Aggies face New Hampshire in the first round before taking on Vermont on Sunday.
