ANN ARBOR, Mich. — After William and Mary posted three goals, UC Davis’s Kim van der Meulen found the back of the cage just before the end of the first period, allowing the Aggies to enter halftime trailing 3-1. Freshman Daniella Schoenfeld’s goal in the second half put the Aggies within one with 23 minutes left to play, but a fourth goal by the Tribe in the 60th minute would prove too much to overcome, lifting William and Mary to a 4-2 win over UC Davis.

William and Mary will play their next game against Virginia with a 5-1 record overall. The Aggies will enter tomorrow’s game against No. 7 Michigan with an 0-5 mark. For a small fee, Aggie fans can view Sunday’s match on the following link. Live Video

Aggie goalkeeper Chelsea Bigelow’s 13-save effort during Saturday’s match put her in UC Davis’s all-time record books for a second time this season. During the Aggies' second game of the year, Bigelow’s 15-save effort against No. 5 Syracuse was enough to tie for third with Lauren Sawvelle for saves in a game. Saturday's 13-save effort placed her tied for fifth with Lauren Sawvelle as well as former teammate, Beth Lee. Bigelow now has 43 saves overall for the 2017 season.

The Tribe took an early lead during Saturday’s match, scoring three goals in the first 27 minutes of play. But just as it looked like the Aggies would enter halftime scoreless, sophomore Kim van der Meulen notched her first career goal to put UC Davis on the board with just 1:52 remaining in the first half.

In the second half, the Aggie offense came out fighting. Freshman Daniella Schoenfeld tallied her first career goal as an Aggie with 23 minutes left to play, putting UC Davis within one of the Tribe. But William and Mary answered back with their fourth and final goal in the 60th minute, lifting the Tribe to a 4-2 win over UC Davis.

Nica Taglieri, Madison Cohen, and Kim van der Meulen each notched one assist during Saturday’s match and freshman Summer Borsack tallied her second defensive save of the season.

The Aggies will face off against the No. 7 Wolverines tomorrow at 11 a.m. (PT)/ 2 p.m. (ET).
