BURLINGTON, Vt. - UC Davis closed out the Catamount Field Hockey Classic and a six-game roadtrip, Sunday, with a 3-0 loss to host Vermont. The Catamounts opened a 1-0 lead in the first half before scoring two goals in a five-minute span past the midway point of the second half. After the conclusion of the tournament, the Aggies' Lindsey Valadez was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Megan Maynard put Vermont (1-5) on top with the first of two goals on the day in the 24th minute of the first half. It was a similar to Saturday's game for UC Davis (3-4) as the Aggies kept it just a one-goal margin until late in the second half. This time, Vermont made it 2-0 on a goal by Chelsea Stevenson with just under 15 minutes left in the game. Maynard struck again less than five minute later as Vermont led 3-0 with 10:15 remaining in the second half.

The Catamounts outshot the Aggies, 18-9, including a 13-4 margin in the second half. Lauren Sawvelle posted six saves in goal for UC Davis.

Valadez ended up leading the team with four shots over the course of the two-day, two-game tournament. Her All-Tourney honors come less than a week after she was named the NorPac Conference West Division Rookie of the Week.

UC Davis returns home and will next be in action Sept. 20 when it opens conference play at home against Stanford.
