DAVIS, Calif. — The Aggie offense started off strong in the first half of Friday’s contest, earning four penalty corners and forcing four saves from Stanford goalkeeper Kelsey Bing. But the Aggie offense would not be able to get on the board, lifting No. 14 Stanford to a 5-0 win over UC Davis.
Stanford improves to 8-5 on the season and 2-0 in America East Conference play. The Aggies will enter their game on Sunday against Pacific with a 1-12 mark.
The UC Davis offense had a strong start to Friday’s game, threatening with seven shots and forcing four saves from Stanford goalkeeper Kelsey Bing. The Aggies also drew four penalty corner opportunities that allowed the Aggies to put shots on goal.
But the Stanford offense took a swift 3-0 lead over the Aggies going into halftime, and went on to score two more in the second half. The Aggies continued to battle the Stanford defense but were unable to get on the board, lifting No. 14 Stanford to a 5-0 win over UC Davis.
The Aggies will look to face Pacific this Sunday at 2 p.m. for the last home game of the 2017 regular season. Prior to Sunday’s contest, UC Davis will honor three soon-to-be graduates in a senior ceremony that will begin approximately 10 minutes before the scheduled 2 p.m. start.
