STANFORD, Calif. - Ninth-ranked Stanford scored two first-half goals and then added three more after halftime as the Cardinal downed visiting UC Davis 5-0 in a NorPac Conference women's field hockey game on Friday night.

The Aggies dropped to 3-10 overall and 1-3 in the conference while Stanford improved to 13-2 overall while remaining undefeated in the NorPac at 6-0. Five different players scored goals for the Cardinal.

Stanford put the defensive clamps on UC Davis, allowing the Aggies just two shots in the game including none in the second half. But despite leading 9-2 in shots over the first 35 minutes, Stanford couldn't shake UC Davis in the early going.

Becky Dru scored her 13th goal of the season following a penalty corner in the 11th minute for a 1-0 Cardinal lead. However, the Aggies were able to keep the deficit at just that for the next 23 minutes as goalie Conley Craven saved three shots.

Stanford, though, was able to take a key 2-0 lead into halftime after Courtney Haldeman took a cross from the right side by Hope Burke to quickly fire a shot that found the cage in the 34th minute.

Alex McCawley's shot from the top of the circle in the 42nd minute gave more breathing room for the Cardinal at 3-0. McCawley then assisted on Kasey Quon's goal in the 57th minute while Kelsey Lloyd added the last score in the 68th minute for the final margin.

Casey Wollbrinck and Cloey LemMon had the only two shots for UC Davis. Both of them were on goal. Conley Craven had 11 saves for the Aggies.

UC Davis will return to NorPac action on Sunday when it hosts No. 14 Cal at 11 a.m. at Aggie Stadium. The match will also feature a pregame tribute for Aggie seniors Kristen Lopez and Sarah Schneider who will be playing their final home games.
