Final Stats

STANFORD, Calif. - The UC Davis field hockey team was defeated by Davidson, 2-1, in overtime Friday night in its season finale in Stanford. The match-up was a consolation game on the second day of action at the NorPac Tournament. Lydia Brambila scored her first career goal in the contest as the Aggies concluded their inaugural Division I season.

It was a tight game throughout with neither team finding the goal in the first half. Davidson outshot the Aggies 4-1 in the first period before UC Davis posted an 8-4 advantage in the second. Davidson was the first to score when Hannah English connected in the sixth minute of the second half to make it 1-0.

The lead would last just over 11 minutes before UC Davis converted a penalty corner. Brambila scored on an assist by Kristen Lopez to tie the score at 1-1. It would stay that way through the end of regulation.

The first 10 minutes of overtime were scoreless before Annie Evans gave Davidson the victory in the game's 81st minute.

Overall, UC Davis outshot Davidson 12-10 and held a 7-6 edge in penalty corners. Brambila led the Aggies with four shots. Nadia Namdari and Kelly Knauf each had two. Conley Craven received her first start of the year in goal for UC Davis and finished the night with three saves.

The night capped off the first season of field hockey at UC Davis in nearly thirty years. The inaugural D-I squad finished with a 3-15 record.
