DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis field hockey team will take on Pacific Saturday afternoon to close out its NorPac and regular season schedules. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at Brookside Field. It will be the last for both teams before next week's NorPac Tournament.

UC Davis (3-12, 0-5 NorPac West) is coming off a 5-3 loss to California in a battle with the Golden Bears last Sunday at Aggie Stadium. The Aggies took an early 1-0 lead behind a goal by Lindsey Valadez. Rachel Sabes and Liz Siemion also scored goals in the final 11 minutes of the contest. The three goals tied a season high for UC Davis while Siemion's goal gave her a team-high five.

Pacific (3-11, 2-3 NorPac West) will be looking to snap a five-game losing streak. The Tigers were last in action on Sunday at No. 20 Indiana and were defeated 3-0. Other games last week included a 6-0 loss at No. 14 Louisville and a 6-4 setback against Penn State. Kim Keyawa leads Pacific with six goals while Lisa Muhl and Kiddy Leubane each have four.

The two teams met on Sept. 27 at Aggie Stadium where Pacific edged UC Davis, 1-0. Muhl scored the game's only goal in the fourth minute of the first half. Each team finished with 17 shots, and Lauren Sawvelle posted 12 saves for the Aggies.

Following Saturday's game, UC Davis will get ready to take part in its first NorPac Tournament. The postseason competition features all eight NorPac teams and takes place Nov. 5-7 in Stanford.
