DAVIS, Calif. - Senior Nadia Namdari was named the NorPac Field Hockey Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week on Monday morning after scoring two goals and assisting on a third during UC Davis' win on Sunday against Pacific at Aggie Stadium.
Namdari, a forward from Escondido, struck first in the 19th minute, taking a pass from Cloey LemMon across the goal face and then finding the back of the cage to give the Aggies a 2-1 lead. She added an unassisted goal in the 32nd minute before assisting on Marissa Hughes' goal in the 63rd that gave UC Davis a 4-1 lead.
Namdari's efforts helped the Aggies post the key NorPac win which clinched them second place in the West Division and secured the west's No. 2 seed to the conference tournament beginning Thursday at Longwood University.
UC Davis, 7-11 overall and 3-3 in the NorPac, will face Davidson on Thursday at 8 a.m. (Pacfic). The Wildcats are 8-11 overall and finished 5-3 in the NorPac's East Division.
