RADFORD, Va. – By recording her career-high fourth goal and second assist of the season in last Friday’s season finale versus Pacific, and helping UC Davis earn a No. 2 seed at this week’s NorPac Championships, the conference recognized sophomore forward Stephie Sabraw by naming her the West Division’s Offensive Player of the Week.
Her assist on Cloey LemMon’s goal, the second one earned throughout her two years as an Aggie, helped UC Davis jump out to an early 1-0 lead in a battle for the division’s second seed at this week's league tournament.
Sabraw further aided the Aggies’ cause by scoring her team’s second goal :39 seconds into the second half, a shot that caught the Tigers off-guard helped UC Davis regain its lead.
Of the 10 shots taken by the Aggies that evening, Sabraw registered three; of her total swings taken against Pacific, two were on goal.
Sabraw is the second UC Davis player to receive weekly recognition from the NorPac this season; on Nov. 8, LemMon received similar accolades after leading UC Davis to its inaugural victory over No. 6 Stanford.
Freshman forward Agustina Singh completes a list of Aggies honored by the conference as she was named the division’s top rookie in back-to-back weeks (Oct. 8 and 15).
UC Davis will open this year’s NorPac Championships with its 8 a.m. (PT) game against Radford, the East Division’s No. 3 seed on Thursday, Nov. 7. Hosted by Liberty, all tournament games will take place at Liberty Field Hockey Field in Lynchburg, Va.
