UC Davis Tied For 10th After Opening Round At Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. - Jee Park shot a 1-over par 72 on Friday and is tied for sixth place in the individual standings as UC Davis finished the first day of the Peg Barnard Collegiate at Stanford in 10th place after shooting an opening-round 309.

The University of Denver fired a 2-over 286 over the first 18 holes at the par-71, 6,037-yard Stanford Golf Course and holds a one-shot lead over the host Cardinal. Long Beach State is third at 5-over 289 with San Jose State (298) and Hawaii (301) rounding out the top five.

Park, a sophomore from Chula Vista, tied her season-best score after firing a 72 on Friday. She also had a 72 in the Aggies' season-opener tournament at the Salbasgeon Suites Invitational at Oregon State in September. Park had score of 36 on both the front and back nine and is in a three-way tie for sixth place in the individual standings.

Kay Hoey of Long Beach State carded a 6-under 65 for a four-shot lead over Stephanie Sherlock of Denver atop the individual leaderboard. Lauren Todd of Stanford is in third at 1-under.

The Aggies' Bryana Gregory had a 78 and is tied for 36th while Kelsey Fischer posted a 79 and is tied for 42nd. Kimberly Johnson and Sydney Roughton each had 80 and are tied for 47th.

The tournament's final 18 holes will begin with a shotgun start on Saturday morning.
