Freshman Demi Runas is tied for seventh after her round of 77 while senior Kimberly Johnson carded a 78 and is tied for 13th, helping UC Davis put its entire lineup on the top half of the leaderboard.

The Aggies, who finished second at last year's tournament and are looking for their second berth in the NCAA Championships in their first three seasons of Division I competition, posted a 10-over 298 team score on Sunday and lead No. 40 UC Irvine by eight shots. Defending champion Long Beach State is nine shots off the pace while UC Riverside and Cal State Northridge are well back in fourth at 29-over. Seven teams are vying for the conference title and automatic berth into the NCAA Regional.

Kim opened her day with a bogey on the par-5 first hole but then battled right back with a birdie on the par-3 second. She capped her front nine with a birdie, making the turn at 1-over 35. Kim played the back at 1-over, coming in with the tournament's only par round on the first day.

Simanton scrambled for her 74, countering two double-bogeys and three bogeys with five birdies, including one on the par-4 18th. Stelzmiller capitalized on a birdie and 13 pars while Runas was 1-under after nine holes before finishing with a 77. Johnson was one over after nine holes and then had birdies on the 10th and 11th holes, ending the day at 6-over.
