IRVINE, Calif. - Coming off a second-place finish last week at Stanford's Peg Barnard Invitational, the No. 33 UC Davis women's golf team travels to Southern California for the UC Irvine Invitational at Santa Ana Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.

The 13-team field - which includes five Big West Conference teams - will play 54-holes over the two days, including 36 on Monday, beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Tee times will start the action on Tuesday beginning at 7:45 a.m.

The Aggies started their spring last week at Stanford and posted a strong second-place finish in the tough 14-team field. They'll try to keep the momentum going by using the same quintet. Betty Chen, who tied for eighth, will be joined by sophomore Andrea Wong (T-10th), Beverly Vatananugulkit (T-15th), freshman Paige Lee (T-17th) and sophomore Blair Lewis (T-28th).

UC Davis will start on the fifth through the eighth holes of the par-72, 5,942-yard course on Monday and will play with No. 37 Texas A&M and Idaho. Stanford, ranked eighth, headlines the tournament field along with No. 16 Pepperdine.

Other teams competing including UC Riverside, Hawaii, Nevada, Portland State, San Francisco, Long Beach State, Gonzaga, and host UC Irvine.

Gonzaga captured last year's championship. UC Irvine, which has won the tournament three times since its inception in 2003, is the only team to take top honors more than once.
