NCAA Division I Championships (live scoring)

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- UC Davis sophomore Alice Kim makes her second consecutive appearance at the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Finals when she tees off in Tuesday's first round at 5 a.m. (Pacific) at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Md.

Kim, one of six individuals participating in the 72-hole tournament that runs through Friday, qualified by finishing eighth at the NCAA West Regional at Arizona State on May 9. She made her debut in the national finals last season when UC Davis enjoyed a magical run to a 21st-place finish.

Kim will play the first rounds of this year's event with Stephanie Connelly of the University of Central Florida and Kendall Dye of Oklahoma. The trio, which will start on the first two, will be one of two groups to tee of at 8 a.m. local time. On Monday, starting times were pushed back 30 minutes due to anticipated frost on Tuesday morning.

She is scheduled to tee off on Wednesday at 10:40 a.m. (Pacific), on Thursday at 5:20 a.m. (Pacific) and on Friday at 9 a.m. (Pacific).

Caves Valley Golf Club measures 6,443 yards and plays to a par 72. Weather is expected to move from the low 70's on Tuesday to 80 degrees on Friday with plenty of sun. The course is located approximately 35 minutes from Baltimore-Washington International Airport. Georgetown University will serve as the championship's host.

In addition to the six individual players, 24 teams that advanced from three regionals will also make up the tournament field. The University of Southern California is the defending national champion after dethroning three-time defending titlist Duke last year.

Kim, from Walnut, Calif., has enjoyed a tremendous season for the Aggies, posting a 73.4 average including 15 rounds at par or better. The All-Big West Conference first-team selection has finished in the top 10 in six tournaments, including a sixth-place at the Big West Conference Championships in April and then her eighth-place showing at the regional. She also tied for second at the Heather Farr Memorial Invitational at Colorado in September and was third at the Fresno State Lexus Classic in February.

Kim tied for 34th among individuals at last year's tournament to lead the Aggies.
