Senior and grad school-bound Van Dyke tied for highest GPA in conference


2011: ALL-MPSF on balance beam, posting conference-best 9.735 RQS; and on floor, ranking 2nd among MPSF performers at 9.800... Alternate on beam to NCAA Corvallis Regional, finishing .010 behind Sacramento State's Lissa Zamolo in West RQS rankings... Earned one of team's four Outstanding Contribution awards... Opened season with career-high 9.875 on floor, one of four scores of 9.800 or better... Moved into T7th on school's all-time career highs list... Posted back-to-back 9.850 marks at San Jose State and at home vs. California... Also hit beam best of 9.775 in dual vs. Golden Bears... Also scored 9.750 on beam at Cal State Fullerton and Oregon State's Salbasgeon Suites Invitational... Placed 4th on floor (9.700), 6th on beam (9.675) at MPSF Championships... Appeared in bars lineup twice, scoring 9.550 at Seattle Pacific... Earned All-Academic honors from MPSF and NACGC/W... Tied Seattle Pacific's Aditi Kulkarni for conference's highest GPA (3.98).

2010: MPSF CHAMPION on beam, tying school record of 9.900 to finish ahead of teammate Kendall McCann's 9.850... Matches previous mark shared by Ericka Ruelas (2001) and Tiffany Chan (2005)... Earned ALL-MPSF on beam (9.690) and floor (9.785), leading the conference in the latter event... Narrowly missed spot as individual floor qualifier for NCAA Regionals when San Jose State fell out of top 36 in team race... Previous beam best had been 9.850, set two weeks earlier in triangular with Cal and Texas Woman's... Also scored 9.775 twice: at Sacramento State and at home vs. Seattle Pacific... Scored 9.800 or higher on floor six times, including 9.850 in the Cal/TWU meet and Alaska Anchorage home dual... Likely would have won MPSF Gymnast of the Week for March 15 had Katie Yamamura not broken 39-point barrier in that home tri-meet... Posted 9.825 at MPSF meet to finish in five-way tie for 3rd... Won All-Academic honors from MPSF and NACGC/W.

2009: ALL-MPSF on floor, ranking 7th with 9.710 RQS prior to conference meet... Competed on floor in 11 meets, on beam in eight... Hit floor best of 9.750 at Cal State Fullerton... Enjoyed strong finish on beam, scoring 9.725 in home quad with Sac State/Bowling Green/New Hampshire, then delivering 9.750s at Sac State and in MPSF Championships (t4th)... One of four recipients of team's Major Contributions awards... Earned NACGC/W Academic honors.

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Home-schooled through Forest Charter School for three years, then graduated from South Sutter Charter in 2008... Competed for Stoyan Deltchev and, more recently, Byers Gymnastics... Placed 4th and qualified for nationals in all-around in her first Level 10 season... Won beam titles at Westerns in 2004 and Region 1 in 2005.

PERSONAL: Born in Prescott, Ariz.... Majoring in psychology... Parents are Ivan & Anne Marie Van Dyke... Proudest personal accomplishment was qualifying for nationals in her first year at Level 10... Lists baking (particularly cupcakes) as one of her more avid hobbies.
